FAQs

Photographic style. John’s style is mainly reportage but with a modern twist. For most of the time he tries to remain as unobtrusive as possible, hovering in the background, capturing those moments of your wedding that portray the real emotion of the day. After the ceremony however he will also spend time with you both to ensure that he captures some stylish and glamorous images that you can treasure for years to come. John will discuss with you the sort of shots you prefer and coverage can be tailored according to taste.

Paying us a visit. Before taking a wedding booking John will normally try to meet prospective clients on a no-obligation basis at his studio. This gives you the opportunity to meet him, discuss the sort of coverage that you’d like and to see the quality of his work and the sort of albums that we offer. If you subsequently choose to book with us, the next contact with you will be approximately 4-6 weeks before your wedding to run through timings and locations in detail and to prepare a list of any group shots that you may require. You are of course welcome to contact us at any time in the intervening period if there’s anything you wish to discuss or want clarified.

Pricing. For attending weddings during peak season (April to September inclusive) we charge £995. Weddings outside of these months are charged at £695. This fee covers John’s time on the day and all post-production. Additional discounts for midweek and short-coverage weddings are also available. Albums and images on disc are extra and start at £240. Please see the Pricing page for more details.

Making a booking. In order to secure a booking, a non-refundable booking fee of £250 is required. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the wedding day.

Turnaround time. John will aim to complete the processing of your images within 2 weeks of your wedding, normally whilst you are on honeymoon (although this may be longer during the peak wedding season).

Proof viewing and reprint ordering. Once your images have been processed they will be available as a client gallery on our website. We also offer couples the opportunity to come to the studio for a relaxed evening to view a slideshow of their pictures before they are released on the web if they prefer it. Friends and relatives can purchase reprints directly from the website using a Paypal account to save you the hassle of having to organise print orders.

Wedding albums. We aim to be as flexible as possible and do not insist that clients have to purchase an album to make a booking. If you would like one however you can make your choice either at the time of booking or following your wedding to help spread the load financially. Once you have chosen the size and style of album you prefer, John will then take your favourite images and design a beautiful handmade album from Jorgensen of Australia, one of the premier album manufacturers in the world. Delivery of the album usually takes around 4-6 weeks (although this may be longer at peak periods). Album prices start at £240.

Images on disc. If you prefer to print your own images or create your own album, we can supply a disc in a presentation case containing all your images in both high-resolution jpg format ready for printing and a low-res set suitable for emailing, Facebook etc.

DVD Slideshow. For the ultimate way of viewing your wedding we can design a professionally produced DVD slideshow with your own choice of music. Please note, this is only available with the purchase of either an album or images on disc.

Additional products. In addition to albums, we can supply a wide variety of other products such as acrylic blocks, canvas wraps and framed prints. If you have any specific requirements or would just like to know what’s available please let us know.

Printers. We use one of the top professional printing laboratories in the country. Only the best quality paper, ink and printers are used and all images are guaranteed not to fade over time unlike those produced by high street printers and some cheaper printing houses.

Insurance. John has both third party liability and professional indemnity insurance. Further details can be provided on request.

How long are images kept? All client material is backed up multiple times and is kept for a minimum of five years. Additional product orders can be placed at any time during this period.
