Mark & Siew-Ling – A Wonderful Wedding in Erpigham

What a fantastic day! We had just about every weather imaginable for Mark and Siew-Ling’s wedding at Erpingham – torrential rain, gales and glorious sunshine; but fortunately the rain and wind stuck to the schedule and came mainly in the early part of the day when the girls were getting ready and we were able to take advantage of the sunshine in the afternoon. The only time the rain interfered was immediately after the wedding ceremony when the heavens opened trapping everyone in the church for 5 minutes or so but even then it cleared quickly allowing Mark and Siew-Ling to walk the short distance from the church to the reception in the grounds of Siew-Ling’s parents house.

A huge amount of time and effort had been put into the day – the marquee was beautifully decorated with flowers and bunting hanging from the ceiling¬†(all hand made by Siew-Ling’s Mum) and table decorations made by Dad. The wedding ceremony was very moving (plenty of tears all round), the speeches were very funny with plenty of medical references (both Mark and Siew-Ling and her Father are all in the medical profession as were many of the guests) and the party afterwards was wild!

Here are some of my favourite image from their day.

The ushers were clearly taking their responsibilities seriously!

Siew-Ling and her Father arrived at the church in Dad’s pride and joy – a Renault 4

Here’s the scene that greeted Mark & Siew-Ling as they left the church!

But fortunately within a few minutes the rain had cleared and the sun emerged allowing Mark & Siew-Ling to walk the short distance back to the reception

There was some particularly viscous confetti throwing going on!

Just before the wedding breakfast we used the fabulous gardens for some bridal portraits

Their idea, not mine!

Guess which table found the box of props

All the speeches were superb – Dad was in particularly good from!

Mark began his speech with a beautiful poem written by his niece (watch the slideshow for the full impact!)

The Best Men were very good too – revealing a few skeletons in the closet ;)

Now that’s not something you see at every wedding!
