Helmingham Hall Gardens – Adam & Emily

Helmingham hall Gardens has to be one of the most impressive wedding venues in East Anglia. The gardens are simply incredible and an absolute joy to shoot with flower borders, bridges, a wild flower meadow and an elegant apple walk – perfect for some stunning bridal portraits. Fortunately the weather was relatively kind to us and although it was fairly overcast, the clouds did produce some beautifully soft and flattering light. The day was made even more special for Emily and her family as her Dad had had a stroke at Christmas but still managed to walk Emily down the aisle – something that he’d been building up to ever since he had the stroke.

A bit of nervous last minute ironing (the bridesmaids’ dresses had been hanging up for a couple of weeks but were still creased so the iron was brought out as a bit of a last resort).

Not sure if the iron had been bought specially to match the dresses!

Helmingham Hall (complete with moat and drawbridge – not bad for a private residence!)

Emily arrived in a beautiful old Humber

After the wedding ceremony we grabbed a few shots with the car before it departed

It was then off to the gardens for some ice cream and Champers

You looking at my ice cream?

Just before the wedding breakfast as the guests were finding their seats we headed off for a tour of the gardens

The wedding breakfast was a ‘carve-yourself’ affair. Some guests just couldn’t wait!

Unfortunately Emily’s Dad wasn’t up to making the speeches so Emily’s sister Marianne took over Father of the Bride duties (and did a fantastic job)

Adam described graphically how he had worked out which bridesmaid  dress belonged to which bridesmaid!

Best Man Rob chose the audio-visual approach for his speech

Oh dear!
