On what was quite possibly the wettest day of the year so far, I travelled down to Suffolk to the lovely Yaxley Hall. It’s a venue that I’ve not shot at before but it’s one that I certainly hope to go back to as it is one of the finest venues around the East Anglian region with some lovely rooms, great artwork and beautiful grounds (not that we saw much of them due to the rain!). Big thanks goes out to Richard the wedding butler who took the time to show us round and look after us on the day. Another cracking wedding! It was a real local affair this time – we started the day at Georgie’s parents home close to the studio in Dilham, moved on to Coltishall church and then finished up at the Marriott Sprowston Manor just down the road. I photographed Georgie’s brother Matt’s wedding a couple of years ago and it’s always nice to see familiar faces again at a wedding, especially when they turn up with newborn babies :@)

On quite possibly one of the wettest days of the year so far (and that’s saying something!) I made the trip down to the fantastic Yaxley Hall in Suffolk for the wedding of Michael and Hannah. It rained for the entire day which limited our use of the grounds but it certainly didn’t dampen any spirits; both Michael and Hannah and all their guests had absolutely the right attitude and made sure they had a great day despite the weather. Towards the end of the day I set up some lights outside and we all trooped out with brollies in hand to make one of my favourite shots of this year – it just shows that you don’t need sunshine to make great wedding photographs.

The Spring weddings are now coming thick and fast (even if the weather isn’t!). Tom and Georgie’s wedding day a week ago started with bridal preparations at Dilham and then moved on to Coltishall church for the wedding ceremony. Their reception was held at the Sprowston Manor a few minutes drive from the church. I photographed Geogie’s brother’s wedding to Libby a coupe of years ago so it was really nice to catch up with them (and their new baby) again.

Georgie is absolutely lovely, very elegant and so easy to get on with. Tom had everyone in stitches most of the day (although he does have a bit of an obsession with pointing at things!). His ‘man-up’ comment during his very emotional speech was priceless. I’m in the process of building their slideshow with audio from the vows and speeches and a full post will follow in good time but in the meantime here’s a quick taster of their day..
