Both Lena (who’s from Belgium) and Mark are extremely ‘nautical’ people who have been sailing for years (Mark is also a sailing instructor). Given that the church where they were getting married at Irstead is right on the river and the reception was also a short cruise away down the Broads from the church it seemed obvious that both Lena and Mark (and most of their guests) should make the trip to and from the church by boat – definitely a first for me. The reception was held in a marquee at Mark’s parent’s house a short walk from the river and we were treated to the most incredible evening sunset across the Norfolk Broads. The long grasses in the meadow backlit by the evening sunshine made for some wonderful pictures.
Mark & Lena have two children, Finn and Eleanor who had their own special wedding outfits
How much fun can you have with an old computer mouse!
Getting Finn ready for the wedding proved to be a bit of a challenge
Mark and Best Man Will arrive at the church
The rest of the guests soon followed
Lena and her Dad’s arrival
The exchange of rings could best be described as ‘tricky’ whilst holding two children 🙂
Back on the boat heading back to the reception (with Finn doing the steering)
Sometimes you just catch moments without realising it. I was concentrating on the shot of Mark taking a glass of champagne from Lena and it was only once I began processing the pictures did I realise that Finn was also offering him a sausage – always nice with the finest champagne.
You can tell she’s half Belgium
