This was certainly one of the more unusual wedding venues that I’ve worked at – a privately-owned, semi-restored mill on the outskirts of Sea Palling on the Norfolk coast. The mill is owned by Julie’s brothers and for weeks leading up to the wedding Julie’s family had been strimming, mowing and digging to cut pathways and clearings for the marquee and bouncy castle in preparation (Christian’s family live in America so it was a bit of a stretch for them to come and land a hand!). To add the finishing touches a bar was set up in the mill, lanterns and fairy lights were hung in the trees, straw bales were brought in for seating and a ‘honeymoon tent’ erected to create a really unique and beautiful venue. The fact that we had some beautiful cornfields and wonderful Norfolk skies was the icing on the cake.
Julie’s bridal preparations began at her parents house in Norwich with bridesmaids Louise and Jenny.
We then headed off to Ingham church to meet up with Christian and the rest of the boys. As you can see, Christian was extremely well organised (much to the amusement of everyone else)
Julie and Christian have a young son, Nate who sadly wasn’t on top form for the wedding having gone down with a bug. He did enjoy plenty of the day however
I love this picture, it just oozes emotion and love
Confetti in the church – someone’s going to be in trouble with the vicar (not me this time thankfully!)
One of the highlights of the day. Unbeknown to Julie and Christian, one of the ushers had arranged to ring the bells as they walked back down the aisle – Julie has just spotted him
Back at the mill – so much effort had been put into the preparations and the place looked fantastic
A very unique table plan
Midway through the afternoon we headed off into the fields and around the mill for some bridal portraits
Just before the speeches Nate perked up (and ate the biggest bowl of strawberries ever)
Christian’s Dad presented a Samurai sword to cut the cake (possibly a bit of overkill for a cake)
